Our History

Since 1889, the Munro name has been synonymous with medical care in Jackson. Doctor David has modeled his practice as a patient centered medical home.

David B. Munro, M.D., has practiced medicine in Jackson since 1981, and his father and grandfather were both surgeons in Jackson. His grandfather, Colin Munro, M.D., was one of the first surgeons in the area. His father, Nathan Munro, M.D. practiced surgery in Jackson for over 35 years.

When Joshua Munro became a doctor, he not only followed in his father Doctor David Munro's footsteps, but in those of his grandfather and great-grandfather. In June 2009, Joshua finished his three-year family medicine residency and joined his father's practice. Both physicians believe in patient education, an individualized care plan and in carrying on the long family tradition of medical care excellence.

The practice is among the first in the state to be paperless with an integrated Electronic Medical Records system since 2005.
Their practice is a full spectrum facility including Digital Radiology, Mammography, Bone-density, Electrocardiogram, ABI, Pulmonary function, OSHA certified Audiometry, Drug Screenings, laboratory collection, Protime Clinic, and Minor Surgery.

The Occupational Health Program of Jackson specializes in pre-employment exams, drug screening and Workman’s Compensation.
